Selected Highlights

These documents and artifacts represent some of the 'highlights' of the digital collection, including several of the images most commonly associated with the discovery of insulin, such as the picture of Banting and Best on the roof of the Medical Building with one of their dogs, the Nobel prize citation to Banting and Macleod, letters from early patients, Banting's 'idea' page in which he first recorded his idea for research on the pancreas, and the original notebooks in which the initial experiments were documented.
